Advanced Firewall Settings

The Advanced Firewall Settings allow you to add, edit, and remove rules pertaining to incoming and outgoing Internet traffic. Advanced Firewall Settings take precedence over rules for Internet Programs.

Note: If you configured Pioneer Complete Suite for multiple users or if you have required a password for changing Pioneer CompleteSuite settings, you have to log in as a Privileged User or provide your E-mail address and Password in order to change Advanced Firewall Settings.

Adding an Advanced Rule

To create an Advanced Rule:
  1. On the Pioneer Complete Console, click the Firewall button .

  2. On the Firewall menu, click Firewall Settings.

  1. In the left pane of the Pioneer Complete Suite Settings window, click Advanced.

  2. Click Add.

  3. In the Advanced Firewall Rule window, in the Description text box, type a description for the rule.

  4. In the Rule type option, select one of the following:

  6. In the Protocol option, select one of the following:

  7. In the Local Port(s) text box, type a local port or comma-separated list of ports for which the rule applies (optional).

  8. In the Remote Port(s) text box, type a remote port or comma-separated list of ports for which the rule applies (optional).

Note: Not all protocols use ports and these options are only available for UDP and TCP.

  1. In the Type(s) drop-down list, select a type of communication (optional).

If you selected IP in Step 8, you can now further specify the types of IP that you want to create a rule for:

If you selected ICMP in Step 8, you can now further specify the types of ICMP that you want to create a rule for:

  1. In the Traffic Direction option, select one of the following:

  2. Click Apply to save the rule, and then click OK to close the Advanced Firewall Rule window.

  3. Click Apply. If you require your E-mail address and Password to change Firewall Settings, the Password Required dialog box displays. Type your E-mail address and Password, and click OK.

  4. Click OK to close the Pioneer Complete Suite Settings window.

Editing an Advanced Rule

To edit an Advanced Rule:
  1. On the Pioneer CompleteConsole, click the Firewall button .

  2. On the Firewall menu, click Firewall Settings.

  1. In the left pane of the Pioneer Complete Suite Settings window, click Advanced.

  2. Select the rule you want to change and click Edit.

  3. Continue at Step 5 of Adding an Advanced Rule above.

Removing an Advanced Rule

To remove an Advanced Rule:
  1. On the Pioneer Complete Console, click the Firewall button .

  2. On the Firewall menu, click Firewall Settings.

  1. In the left pane of the Pioneer Complete Suite Settings window, click Advanced.

The Pioneer Complete Suite Settings window displays any existing rules in the right pane.

  1. Select the rule to remove.

  2. Click Remove.

  3. Click Apply to save the changes, and then click OK to close the Advanced Firewall Rule window.

  4. Click Apply. If you require your E-mail address and Password to change Firewall Settings, the Password Required dialog box displays. Type your E-mail address and Password, and click OK.

  5. Click OK to close the Pioneer Complete Suite Settings window.
