When you select the Firewall Settings option from the Firewall menu, the General Settings window is displayed by default. This allows you to set general Firewall rules regarding programs that access to the Internet.
Note: If you configured for multiple users or if you have required a password for changing settings, you have to log in as a Privileged User or provide your E-mail address and Password in order to set the General Firewall Protection.
On the
Pioneer Complete Console, click the Firewall
button
.
On the Firewall menu, click Firewall Settings.

Choose one of the following Firewall protection levels:
Off – Select this option to turn off the Firewall protection. The Firewall does not affect computer performance in any way. You are not protected against intruders when you select this option. Choose this option if you are planning on using a different Firewall on your computer or when you are protected by a different Firewall on the network.
Basic – Selecting this option will allow traffic from your computer to the Internet while blocking all traffic from the Internet to your computer. No Firewall Alerts will be generated in this mode.
Medium – Select this option to allow only common programs, such as Microsoft® Internet Explorer, to access the Internet. With Medium protection, common programs requiring Internet access will work without changing settings. Less common programs need to be explicitly approved of before they can access the Internet. A Firewall Alert will be generated when such a program first tries to access the Internet. You can give the program access from the alert or use the Internet Programs screen to enable the program to access the Internet.
All programs attempting to access your computer from the Internet are blocked. This option provides excellent protection against external intruders.
High – With High protection enabled, all programs requiring Internet access need to be approved of before they can access the Internet. A Firewall Alert will be generated when a new program first tries to access the Internet. You can give the program access from the alert or use the Internet Programs screen to enable the program to access the Internet.
All programs attempting to access your computer from the Internet are blocked. This option provides excellent protection against external intruders and gives you full control over all programs on your computer.
Block all Internet traffic – Select this option to block all incoming and outgoing traffic to and from your computer. When you select this option, Pioneer Complete Suite does not allow any program access to the Internet. No Firewall Alerts are generated when you select this option.
Note: If you select Block all Internet traffic, Pioneer Complete Suite itself can still access the Internet to retrieve updates and verify your E-mail address and Password when needed, ensuring that you always have the most recent updates, are well-protected and can enjoy all of Pioneer Complete Suite's functionality.
Under Apply the above settings to traffic to and from my home/office network, select one of the following:
No – Choosing this option results in no Firewall rules being applied to traffic between your computer and other computers on your home or office network. Network traffic can flow freely between your computer and other computers on your network. You can easily share files between computers on your home or office network but you are not protected by the Firewall against threats originating from them.
Yes (Recommended) – The Firewall protection level you chose will be applied to your home or office network as well. You are protected against threats from your home or office network but you have to create Firewall rules if you want to use Shared Folders or other resources on your local network.
Click Apply, and then click OK to close the Firewall Settings window.
