Setting Internet Access Time Limits

The Set time limits on web access option controls the amount of time a user can access the World Wide Web. By default, all users can access the Web for an unlimited amount of time. Time limits can be set based on specified hours on specified days. You can also specify a total number of minutes per day or a total number of hours per month to allow access to the Web and combine all combination above to create the rules that suit your needs.

 

This feature is customizable for each Windows user when in multi-user mode.

Note: If you configured Pioneer Complete Suite for multiple users or if you have required a password for changing Pioneer Complete Suite settings, you have to log in as a Privileged User or provide your E-mail address and Password in order to Set time limits on web access.

To set time limits on web access:
  1. On the Pioneer Complete Console, click the Internet Controls button Internet Controls button.

  2. On the Internet Controls menu, click Internet Controls Settings.

In the Pioneer Complete SuiteSettings window, the right pane displays the Internet Controls settings.

Note: If you configured Pioneer Complete Suite for multiple users, select the user for which you want to Set time limits on web access from the drop-down list at the top of the right pane.

  1. Check the Set time limits on web access check box.

  2. Click Set Details. The Time Limits dialog box displays.

  3. To set specific days and times for Internet access:

    1. Check the Only allow Internet access during the following hours check box.

    2. In the grid showing the days of the week on the left and hours across the top, click the grid location where you want to allow access. The hours begin at 12 a.m. (midnight) and end at 11:00 p.m. Selected grid locations will show up in Green.

Note: To clear an entry in the grid, click the entry again.

  1. To specify a total number of minutes per day to allow access to the Web, click the Limit Web browsing to approximately <n> minutes per day check box and then type a value in the entry box.

  2. To specify a total number of hours per month to allow access to the Web, click the Limit Web browsing to approximately <n> hours per month check box and then type a value in the entry box.

  3. Click OK to return to the Pioneer Complete Suite Settings window.

  4. Click Apply. If you require your E-mail address and Password to change Internet Controls Settings, the Password Required dialog box displays. Type your E-mail address and Password, and click OK.

  5. Click OK to close the Pioneer Complete Suite Settings window.

Note: If you make a change and then attempt to close the Pioneer Complete Suite Settings window before clicking Apply or OK to save the changes, a message is displayed asking if you want to save the changes. Click Yes to save the changes, or click No to exit the window.
