Setting Up Pioneer Complete Suite for Multiple Users

supports multiple Windows users in the Microsoft® Windows XP®  and Windows 2000 operating systems. If you use multiple user accounts in Windows XP or Windows 2000 for your family members you can use Pioneer Complete Suite to create individual Internet Controls settings for them.

Note: This option is not available if your Windows XP or Windows 2000 computer is a member of a domain. Multiple users are not supported for domains in this release of Pioneer Complete Suite.

User accounts are created and managed by the computer's owner through the User Accounts functions in Windows XP and Windows 2000. If you need to add or delete users you must do this through the operating system.

To manage users in Windows XP:
  1. On the Windows Task Bar, click Start, then Settings and then Control Panel.

  2. In the Control Panel window, double-click User Accounts.

The User Accounts window displays. Refer to Windows Help for information on managing User Accounts.

To manage users in Windows 2000:
  1. On the Windows Task Bar, click Start, then Settings and then Control Panel.

  2. In the Control Panel window, double-click Users and Passwords.

The Users and Passwords window displays. Refer to Windows Help for information on managing user accounts.

Note: If you have required a password for changing Pioneer Complete Suite settings, you have to provide your E-mail address and Password in order to enable Pioneer Complete Suite for multiple users.

To enable Pioneer Complete Suite for multiple users:
  1. Log on to Windows as a Computer Administrator. Only users with these administrative privileges can set up Pioneer Complete Suite for multiple users.

  2. On the Pioneer Complete Console, click the Internet Controls button Internet Controls button.

  3. On the Internet Controls menu, click Internet Controls Settings.

In the Pioneer Complete Suite Settings window, the right pane displays the Internet Controls settings.

  1. Click the Click here to set up multiple users link at the bottom of the window. The Multi-user Setup window displays showing a grid with each User Name and their Privileges and Internet Controls settings.

  2. To change a setting for a user, click the grid location containing the setting for the user that you want to change. A drop-down box is displayed containing the available options:

  3. Select the desired options from the drop-down box for each user.

  4. When you are finished, click OK to close the Multi-user Setup window.

  5. In the Pioneer Complete Suite Settings window, the right pane displays the Internet Controls for the Windows Computer Administrator currently logged on. At the bottom of the right pane you see the message You are currently using different settings for multiple Windows users.

  6. To change settings for another user, in the User drop-down box select the name of the user that you want to change settings for:

  1. From now on, the Pioneer Complete Console will show the name of the user who is currently logged on in it's title bar when you click on the small envelope icon on the left side once:

Follow the steps below to revert to a single group of settings for Pioneer Complete Suite:
  1. Log on to Windows as a Computer Administrator. Only users with these administrative privileges can disable multiple users for Pioneer Complete Suite.

  2. On the Pioneer Complete Console, click the Internet Controls button Internet Controls button.

  3. On the Internet Controls menu, click Internet Controls Settings.

In the Pioneer Complete Suite Settings window, the right pane displays the Internet Controls settings.

  1. Click the Click here to revert to a single group of settings for this computer link at the bottom of the window. A confirmation message window displays with a caution that the existing Pioneer Complete Suite settings for all users are deleted if you continue. Click No to keep using Pioneer Complete Suite in multi-user mode. Click Yes to revert to single-user mode. The single-user Internet Controls Settings window now displays, showing the settings for the user that was logged on when you reverted to a single group of settings.
