International Redundancy -
Pioneer Broadband now offers redundant connectivity
through our partner in New Brunswick. This
exciting northbound IP data connection is a
must-have for business critical data flow.
Banks, hospitals, businesses, and government
agencies can't afford not to consider how their data
enters and leaves the state of Maine.
Most IP data transmissions north of Bangor have
to traverse the ILEC network to get to Portland,
Maine before it can get to the Internet. There
is little wrong with this design except all that
traffic goes to one of two places in Portland that
are within a few city blocks of one another.
From a disaster recovery standpoint a second
geographically diverse path is necessary.
Companies with revenue tied directly to their
ability to access the Internet need to have multiple
Internet Service Providers with distintcly diverse
physical paths.
This thinking is what created Pioneer's
partnership with an ISP in New Brunswick. Our
100Mbps connection to Canada gives us access to
Aliant's robust network with paths to the Internet
backbone via Halifax, Nova Scotia or Montreal,
Quebec.
If your company needs to prove a physically
diverse path for your IP data please give us a call
to see if we can serve you.
